  Called in on a Sunday on way home ,and inquired if they still were serving Sunday lunch, I knew it was about 3pm,so was delighted when they served until 4pm, didn't want.to cook when I got home.,was too hungry.
  Service was good but the meal was terrible, plenty of beef, but the mash had big lumps of raw potato in, the roasties were so dried out there were no fluffy potato in the middle and were un eatable, so l left them and the Yorkshire pudding was soooo crispy it would have broken glass, I don't like vegetables over cooked but these had not seen boiling water at all, so all in all came away still feeling as hungry as when I went in. Total waste of my money, never again

  This is a very popular pub with a dedicated dining area as well as having tables in the main bar. Pre-booking essential at busy dining times though they do try to be accommodating and can sometimes squeeze you in between bookings. Tasty food, generous portion sizes and reasonably priced... no need for a starter if you want to save a little room for desert! Hot food is always piping hot when it arrives at the table, which I find is a rarity in restaurants nowadays. Attentive servers but most could be a lot cheerier; diners are happy when staff appear happy (and this would have got Eagle & Child a 5 star review).
